4th literary letter.
The Grey King by Susan Cooper Grade B
This literary letter is on my 4th novel, The Grey King. I choose this book because it looked different from others on Ms. Duester’s book shelf. It is as interesting as it looks from its cover. I ill finish this book in a day or two. I ill give B grade to this novel. And I hope, my literary letter ill help other to choose their next novel. The story is fast in the beginning, and then it gets slow in the middle, and at the end it again gets speed.
It is about a boy who has had a serious illness and has gone to Wales to recuperate. There “Will Santon” (main character) starts to remember something, what it is, not too clear at first but starts to come back when he meets Brans’ ( family friends), white dog Cafall. Cafall is not an ordinary dog but a dog that can see the wind. Will and Bran turn out to become very good friends and their friendship ends over one tragic event and they help each other to defeat the Dark, Read this novel to know weather “Will” have to leave the earth forever ?
So far it’s been interesting experience, it is a typical youngsters’ book. It uses easy English, yet in good logical words. I have come to know that Susan Cooper’s way of presenting ideas is unique; as he portrays feelings, thoughts, ideas, and dreams of a young boy in words, and made it interesting….

Good synopsis of the novel; however, you need more anaylsis or interaction with what you have read. For instance, give examples of how Susan Cooper’s way of presenting ideas is unique, as you claim.
Grade: 3/5
